Junior Buyer - Footwear - Up to £31,000 + package - London

An excellent opportunity has arisen within a major department store, for a Junior Buyer with footwear expertise. This is a fantastic time to join the company, as they are currently embarking upon a period of huge growth and refurbishment, developing new concepts and identity to reposition themselves as a leading and exciting retailer on the British High Street.

The successful Junior Buyer will be responsible for delivering planned margin through cost price negotiation, cost effective supply solutions and achievement of full price sales. You will also need to lead a team and manage your own area, so must be exceptionally confident in what you do. Developing effective strategy utilising market, sales and customer information will be a key requirement of your role, as well as being able to predict key trends.

You must therefore be commercially minded with great analytical skills and have a keen eye for trends and strong product.  You must have worked within footwear and have a solid buying background, with prior experience of critical path management.  In order to identify potential suppliers and secure commercially viable contracts, you will also need great relationship building skills and a natural flair for negotiation.
