The Category Development Manager is a newly created role due to the business needs. Reporting into the Channel Lead Manager, you will have influence on all key business decisions across the Off Trade and Licensed On Trade, in order to increase volume, turnover and profit. With a number of opportunities to become the category captain with key retailers, my client recognises that they require a dedicated resource to set up the function. As such they are looking for a senior candidate to provide the necessary gravitas and influencing skills to enable them to strategically set up the category team.
Experience/Skills Required:
· Extensive FMCG Category Management experience.
· Excellent knowledge of the UK Grocery trade is essential; UK Licensed On Trade knowledge is desirable but not essential.
· Highly commercial with strong analytical skills, able to probe and analyse research information with an eye for detail.
· Able to use communication skills, both verbally and written, to influence accounts externally and to gain buy in to insights internally.
· Have the ability to confidently manage projects and deliver agreed objectives on time within a team environment
· Highly results orientated, proven results delivery
· Proven coaching and people management and Leadership skills
· Courage to challenge the status quo in order to continually improve the way things are done
