We have made 4 placements into FrieslandCampina since 2017 in Sales, National Accounts and Category Management.
This vacancy became available due to a resignation in the team. This was an intrinsic role to the wider team, with grocery its sole focus. Location was a challenge, the client being based outside of a major city. We know these category roles can be a challenge to fill; the market isn’t as fluid as Sales and the skillset requires the ideal candidate to be highly analytical as well as customer-facing.
Nearly two decades of working in the grocery category gave us the ideal database to search for top candidates here and we already knew several candidates for the role. Over a year of working with FrieslandCampina also meant we were able to give a good picture of their employer brand and working culture. We actively targeted local individuals only, given the geographical situation, looking at local businesses first. We also advertised only in The Grocer to leverage our own strong brand to encourage any new candidates to come forward. Out of a short list of 5 candidates, 3 were invited to first stage interviews, 2 progressed to final interviews before an offer was made and accepted 7 weeks from the brief date.
Although we supplied a shortlist of 5 talented candidates to our client, the successful candidate was actually identified on day 2 of the process, such was the efficacy of our database.
