We were briefed in November 2017 to fill this high profile, senior vacancy within their Confectionary division. This was a big leadership role, responsible for a team of 25 and paying a six-figure salary, and Mars needed an inspirational leader who would be comfortable with delivering on functional capabilities and category strategy.
We took a headhunting approach here, to target passive candidates with high-level experience that would find the role appealing and be interested in the move. Focussing on the top grocery brands only, and using our network and brand to secure confidential conversations with 12 potential candidates, we supplied our client with a shortlist of 6 people. They invited 5 candidates to first stage interview, 4 to second stage and had offered the right person the role within 8 weeks of the brief.
